כשמת, מצאנו ליד מיטתו חוברת "אגרות הרמב"ם" מגילות לבית ספר עשרה מכתבים מתוך תשובות הרמב"ם.
על החוברת בכתב יד המיוחד והיפה, אבל הקשה לקריאה של אבי היו כל מיני ציטטות ותגובות שלו לדברים שכתב, פתאום הוא חזר לעברו ואני יודע שחטא בכתיבה בעברו, וחלק כנראה ממה שקרא הצית את הילד שבתוכו, זכור לי שביקש ממני את הספר הזמן האבוד של פרוסט, המוות כנראה כבר העסיק אותו זמן מסויים, הוא היה ביישן מכדי לדבר בגלוי איתנו.
