Mr. Wexner severed ties with Mr. Epstein around 2007. In a memo to his employees last month, Mr. Wexner denied knowledge of Mr. Epstein’s alleged sexual abuse.
Mr. Wexner’s allegation cast new light on Mr. Epstein’s sizable fortune, the origins of which had long been a mystery. In court papers tied to his request for bail last month, Mr. Epstein claimed a net worth of more than $550 million, including a Manhattan townhouse, private jets and an island in the Caribbean.
